Therapy that helps your nervous system slow down
Life can look stable, successful, and even fulfilling — yet your body may still feel on edge. Anxiety shows up. Sleep feels shallow. Your mind stays busy. Your nervous system doesn’t quite settle.
Many of the people I work with are insightful, capable, and used to pushing through. They understand what’s happening logically — but their bodies haven’t caught up yet.
Therapy here is about helping your nervous system respond differently, so you’re not constantly bracing or managing from a place of tension.
How I can support you
Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, my work focuses on a few core areas where therapy can create real, lasting change.
Anxiety Therapy
For anxiety that feels automatic, physical, or hard to control — even when life looks “fine.”
This includes:
Chronic worry or overthinking
Panic attacks or sudden anxiety
Feeling on edge or keyed up
Difficulty relaxing or sleeping

Single-Event Trauma Therapy
For when a specific experience continues to affect your body and nervous system long after it’s over.
This includes:
Ongoing anxiety linked to one upsetting event
Feeling triggered, reactive, or on guard
Knowing you’re safe, but not feeling safe
This work is focused, contained, and designed to help your system recognize that the event has passed.

EMDR Therapy
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps the brain and nervous system process stress responses that feel stuck.
I use EMDR to support:
Anxiety and panic
Stress responses
Nervous system dysregulation
Trauma linked to specific events

Therapy for People Who Carry A Lot
Many of my clients are:
People who are used to being the strong one
You don’t have to fit into a box to work here. What matters most is that anxiety or stress is showing up in your body — and you’re ready for something that goes deeper than coping.
How this work is different
This isn’t therapy that stays in your head.
My approach focuses on:
Nervous system regulation
Reducing automatic reactivity
Helping your body feel safer, not just smarter
Working at a pace that feels steady and supportive
I use evidence-based methods like EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support real change — without pushing, diagnosing, or endless analysis.
What therapy can help you experience
Over time, many people notice:
Less tension and reactivity in their bodies
Fewer anxiety spikes or panic responses
Clearer thinking and better sleep
A greater sense of ease and presence
Feeling more grounded in daily life
This isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about feeling more at home in yourself.
Why work with Dr. Minerva
I’ve spent over a decade supporting people through anxiety, stress, and trauma — and I also understand personally how unsettling it can feel when your body won’t slow down even when life looks okay.
Clients often share that they feel understood here without having to explain or perform. My work is grounded, compassionate, and focused on helping your nervous system find more ease — not fixing you or pushing you to change who you are.ut no longer living at its mercy.
What working together looks like
Therapy is offered in weekly virtual sessions with a clear focus and direction. While everyone’s process is different, my work is not open-ended or exploratory by default.
Together, we will:
Identify the anxiety or panic patterns your body is stuck in
Use EMDR to target those responses directly
Track progress and adjust as your system stabilizes
Work toward meaningful relief—not endless maintenance
Weekly therapy availability is intentionally limited to ensure focused, high-quality care.
For some clients, a more focused option
Some clients benefit from a more concentrated approach to anxiety and panic. In addition to weekly therapy, I also offer EMDR intensives—a short-term, focused format designed to create momentum when weekly sessions feel too slow or when time is limited.
EMDR intensives are offered virtually to clients in New York, New Jersey, and Florida and are not the right fit for everyone. If appropriate, we can discuss whether this option supports your goals.
